"I highly recommend The Bar Code program to all students taking the California Bar Exam. Quite simply, The Bar Code is a preparation course that clearly outlines the precise steps students can easily follow for achieving the highest scores on essays and performance tests. The tutors work extensively with each student to hone their writing skills, with very detailed feedback. They are absolutely relentless in getting test-takers to perform their very best on each and every practice exam, and you will appreciate that fact when you sit for the test. I could not have hoped for better preparation. Thank you!"

"The Bar Code Program is designed to teach its students how to write in a way that not only addresses the major issues of a question, but demonstrates to the grader the applicant's ability to "unfold" the law with the minor sub-issues as well. By addressing minor issues which lead to the major issues, the applicant "educates" the grader in a way that demonstrates knowledge of the subject matter as a whole. The Cheat Sheets book - which is a huge part of the program - provides the ideal format for how various questions need to be addressed and the best template with which to write essay questions."

"The Bar Code provides what every other course doesn’t; a real chance at becoming a lawyer. After taking major bar review courses, I can confidently say there is nothing more valuable than The Bar Code Cheat Sheets in Action series and The Bar Code seminars. Being unsuccessful on the bar exam more times than I care to remember, coming from a part-time law school, and working full-time up until the week of the exam, there is no way I would have passed without the essay technique and cheat sheets. Everyone knows the law, everyone can spot issues, but your writing will determine whether or not you pass. Thank you, everyone!"

"I graduated from UC Davis School of Law. I did not take all of the "bar" courses in law school, but was still confident I would pass the exam on the first attempt. I was wrong. On my third attempt, I retained the services of The Bar Code. I do not think I could have passed the exam without the individualized attention the program provides. My tutor went through all of my essays (quite a few too!) with great attention to every detail, and helped me understand what had to change in order for me to have a shot at passing. The encouragement I received and sincere communication of how I was actually doing allowed me to realistically gauge my progress, and find the confidence to believe I could pass. Thanks to everyone at The Bar Code!!!!!"

"The Bar Code is an excellent course for California bar prep, designed to teach you the things that the "other courses" do not. The truth is, there are tricks and secrets to the bar exam. The Bar Code taught me to give the bar examiners what they want and helped me build confidence in my exam writing. Once you learn The Bar Code formula, you'll be able to answer any essay, no matter what the subject!"

"I had been out of law school for 4 years before I decided to take the California Bar Exam. The first time I took a survey bar review course, and while it was great for the substantive law, it did not teach me how to write specifically for the California Bar Exam. The Bar Code program clearly taught me how to write for this test and, as importantly, unlocked the mystery behind the performance tests. The Bar Code approach to the PTs made sense to me from the moment I heard it. I am convinced that without instruction of this program, I would have faced the same challenges as I did the first time. In fact, I wish I would have supplemented my first course with this program."

"I graduated from UOP McGeorge School of Law and my firm paid for me to take a full service bar review program. Because I lived so far away from a lecture site, I studied at home and listened to the lecture CDs. Although I diligently followed the study schedule, I felt unprepared before and during the July exam, largely because I never received any one-on-one feedback on my writing skills. I had a gut feeling that I had failed the exam and, sure enough, I did.
I was contacted by McGeorge's Dean of Academic Affairs about my poor results and I told her that I felt that I needed a bar preparation course in which I would receive more personal attention and feedback, not one where I felt like just a number. She recommended The Bar Code. I looked into the program and decided to enroll. The schedule was rigorous (I wrote nearly 55 practice essays in a two-month period) but my tutor, a former bar grader, gave me excellent writing tips and feedback on each practice essay. Moreover, we met in person every week (often twice a week), which for me was invaluable. As a result, I felt confident before and during the February bar exam...and passed!
I highly recommend enrolling in The Bar Code course, especially if you are a person who values one-on-one attention and feedback. The tutorial schedule is demanding, but if you stick with it the chances of having a successful result are excellent. I am taking the Nevada bar exam in February 2006, and will absolutely use The Bar Code."

"After graduating from a top law school and practicing in two other states for nine years, I took the California Bar Exam. Although I attended a bar prep class and studied for over six weeks, I failed the exam the first time I took it. Still in a state of disbelief, I found The Bar Code and began working to improve my essay writing and performance test taking skills. I took the exam a second time and passed. I truly believe I could not have passed the exam without my tutor’s coaching -- it made all the difference and gave me the tools needed to pass the exam!"

"I was very impressed with my tutor, Patrick, at the Bar Code. He was very professional and responsive to my inquiries. Although he was tutoring me remotely through correspondences and video conferencing, he was still able to correctly diagnose my shortcomings in writing and helped me to pass the bar exam. I was quite doubtful about using another tutor after failing the bar the second time, but the Bar Code came through and I can finally kiss the bar exam goodbye!! Thank you everyone at The Bar Code!!"

"Studying for the California Bar Exam, in my experience, is wholly unrelated to studying for law school exams. For the purposes of the Bar, knowing the substantive law backwards and forwards is not enough to ensure adequate performance on the written portion. Nor can you rely on your writing style that got you through law school. The Bar exam requires a specific, technical formula, which I was only able to learn from The Bar Code program. I only wish that I had taken The Bar Code program at the outset. I would have been spared the pain and anguish of having to take the Bar Exam a second time."

"After failing the California Bar Examination twice, I finally came to the realization that in order to pass the exam I needed the kind of personal assistance I never received in a group type program. Fortunately, my law school mentor had used The Bar Code services (with success!) and recommended them.
Well, it made all the difference. When I checked the California Bar website last Friday my name was actually on the pass list. Whew! My Bar Code tutor was Patrick Lin. Not only is he a great teacher, he's also a former bar exam grader. His combination of practical legal knowledge, quiet psychological support, and knowledge of the thinking process that goes on in the minds of bar graders gave me the edge that took me over the top – finally!
The Bar Code Performance Test class was also invaluable. It was simple and straightforward, providing important concepts and strategies I could actually remember and implement during the exam.
The Bar Code tutorial really gave this very average student the margin I needed to compete and finally win! Thank you to EVERYONE at The Bar Code for making my goal attainable."

"When I found out that I had to take the monstrous California Bar Exam again I was devastated. But as luck or destiny would have it I ended up with more than a helping hand to get me through the nightmare again. The Bar Code tutoring program was extraordinary. The tutors really have an insight on how the bar is graded and what it is the bar graders are looking for! The cheat sheets were awesome, and I used them as much as I could for this February 2007 exam. They were like blue prints in my head that I could just type on to the computer. The performance workshop was eye-opening, especially after I found out that it was totally different and much better than what I had learned with one of the very LARGE bar programs out there. Now here I am, finally a lawyer!"

"Facing the California bar exam for the fourth time, I was seemingly out of options. I tried one of the largest and most popular bar review programs and used another private tutor. They didn't work. However, with the Bar Code, I faced a stark difference. The Bar Code offers a straightforward and approachable method to essay writing and performance test management. My tutor offered weekly writing exercises with constructive, easy-to-understand feedback and kept me focused on passing the bar exam even though I felt scared and experienced many sleepless nights when I believed I couldn't pass. But I did! I can't recommend the Bar Code enough!!!! Thank you so much!"

"To everyone at The Bar Code - I've been meaning to write to you to say thanks. I really believe that I would not have passed the bar this time without your tutorials. The first time I studied for the bar, I followed the instructions of my bar review course exactly. When I subsequently failed, I was crushed. My confidence was totally shot, because I couldn't understand where I had gone wrong. After one day at the essay writing workshop, I felt like I understood why I had failed. I was immediately writing better essay answers. I was able to review my failing exam answers and see the mistakes. Moreover, while my regular bar review course told me not to spend a lot of time on performance tests, your course equipped me with an efficient and effective way to craft answers. I left the PTs having filled up my bluebook with point scoring arguments. The Bar Code workshops were the most effective and valuable expenditures of my money and my study time. After turning in practice essay exams and using The Bar Code cheat sheets, I felt confident I could write passing answers on the exam. And I did!. Thank you so much!!

"The Bar Code lectures put me on the right track, and The Bar Code Cheat Sheets book gave me the tools to be able to handle any essay that came my way on the exam. The seminars are easy to understand, easy to implement, and the book is structured to look exactly like the real exam. Thank you everyone at The Bar Code!"
