Essay Writing Workshop Online Webinar

The Essay-Writing Workshop is a seminar designed to teach students the techniques of essay writing for any legal exam. It is the foundation of The Bar Code methodology and a recommended course for all students participating in our program or using our publications.

The workshop is designed to expose students to the top six reasons why people fail the Bar Exam, despite having a solid understanding of the substantive law. These include improper IRAC structure (known as IREACT), jumping to the answer, merging issues, recognizing and writing about; non-issues,” weak factual analysis and time mismanagement. A discussion of essay formatting will also be included.

As part of the workshop, the students will also review five examples of failing answers to a Bar Exam released question and discuss methods for improving them. Students will also receive three DVDs to watch at their leisure on how to apply the lessons from the workshop to three Bar Exam questions (which can be taken as a simulated exam before watching the DVDs).

The Essay Writing Workshop Online Webinar is the distance version of The Bar Code's Essay Writing Workshop. It is available to students unable to attend the LIVE lectures (offered in Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco, California) or studying for the Arizona or Nevada Bar Exams.
